Mommy's 1st Letter to Ethan - Delayed

Dear Ethan,

Time really flies. It seems like yesterday, you were just born. On 3rd October 2009, you celebrated your 1st Birthday which coincide with Mid Autumn celebration with close family members, mommy's besties & papa's buddies & family.

I recalled back our wonderful moments for the past year, whenever you show us your broadest smile, we laugh & joy about it. When u fall sick, we start to be in panic mode. Every action from u causes a reaction from us. I had always store your smile, your naughty act & your every single behaviour in my heart & reviewed it frequently, on the bus, on the train or whenever I am bored at work. I had always shared my joy about you with the loved ones around me.

Here is a recap of your milestone for the past 1 year:-

3rd Oct 08- The long awaited arrival of you with "little fight & war" in MT Alvernia smallest delivery room.

5th Oct 08 - Discharged from Mt Alvernia & 1st ride on 姑妈's car

8th Oct 08 - Admitted to Mt Alvernia for Jaundice with the test result of 16.1 with 25 being the highest in range

For the 1st time since you joined the family, I cried at the hospital with so much reluctances to admit & leave you for photo-theraphy. On the same night I visited you alone despite braving through the rain & cried before leaving ward. Nurse at the ward 321 fed you with so much patiences as you took an hour to consume a bare 30ml of milk.

9th Oct 08 - Discharged from Mt Alvernia & home sweet home

1st Nov 08 - Had 1st baby full month party at home with both mommy & papa's friends & relatives at our place

8th Nov 08 - 1st try on the pacificer

11th Nov 08 - 1st 6-in-1 immunisation

30th Dec 08 - 2nd 6-in-1 immunisation

4th Jan 09 - 1st Hair cut

2nd Feb 09 - Mommy resumed work after 4 months of maternity leave

28th Feb 09 - Finally shaved off the baby hair & become "BOTAK"

8th Mar 09 - 1st try on sleeping in the hammock like swing

9th Mar 09 - 2nd Jab

18th Apr 09 - 1st day mommy left u overnight alone at grandma house as mommy & papa had to attend a bestie, Sebastian & Eunice's wedding.

26th Jun 09 - 1st visit to PD clinic for flu, cough & fever consultation. This coincide with the growth of Ethan's 1st 2 lower Central Incisor

11th Sept 09 - 1st time rolled down the bed & onto the hard floor

@ 1 year old, Ethan has 8th teeth (4 upper incisor & lower incisor teeth respectively)

Like what every parent will say to their kids, I take pride in you Ethan. My only wish for you is to stay healthy & happy always.

Lack of posting

4th haircut since birth

The lack of my posting is due to the overwhelming amounts of household chores to be completed in the evening since the maid left....


Equation : Maid-less = Alot of household chores to be completed
= no time for personal stuff at night

Finally pop over..

YES YES YES at Singapore time 4.55am morning today

I awoken with a fright as I heard a "POP" sound like a durian drop from a tree

Same sound as durian sound during my kampung childhood days

I found this little gem on the floor like a little baby frog

when I asked Ethan what happen?

he cried..That freaking moment I sweared my heart just pondered

But his fall was not a powerful one cos he rolled down from the bed onto a matteress

I folded the mattress 3-fold

from the 3-fold mattress he rolled over to the foor

the height is approximately 25cm high

So I tot since he is awake

I asked..

Ethan have you become "gong gong" after the fall? Please reply mommy with an ugly smile

There he is, an ugly smile with mini eyes..

Oh man..This is driving me nuts :)

11 months = 336 Days Old

Ethan turns 11 months old today.

Being a 11 month old baby, he request attention from us every single minute. Back home, he will usually be put on the walker for him to explore the house for new things so as to keep himself entertained. He often talks, yells, screams, laughs or calls for help if he is lonely or being left unattended whilst the mommy is so pre-occupied with household chores & many more.

But if he is quietly tucked away in a corner, there you find him up to some real mischief. He will either tiptoe trying to reach for something or his hands will be holding on to some new found toy like our handphone..etc.

From the corner of the room, I called for him asking “Ethan what are you doing?” He replies with a smile broadly spread across his face. How can I not love him more & more each day??

On this day, the fellow rolled down to the floor from the bed of course 1st time (hoped no more next time).

At 4.06am Singapore time, I woke up in fright cos I heard a "pop" sound. There he is the little fellow had kicked all the blanket, pillows & bolster onto the floor. Ended up on the floor still in his dreamland. The sleeping arrangement at mom's house is in such a way only the top & bottom is proned to dangers & blocked by the pillows, blankets & bolster,big ones...Right & left is blocked by me & my mom respectively. Still he can wiggle his way down down onto the floor.

Luckily, Enric was sleeping on a mattress besides the bed. The mattress left a narrow 15cm gap from the bed to the mattress. AND amazingly is, Enric's small pillow fits into the corner portion & Ethan happens to roll exactly into that spot. I have to thank GOD in all race & religion for protecting this precious gem of mine.

14082009 is such a happening day afterall.Thank you all for the well wishes, cakes, gifts, dinner... I am so blessed with all my loved ones around.

Day 313

Day 313 of my life with Ethan..The world is such a wonderful place to live in.

At 10months old, this baby had upgraded from a baby to a toddler. He has 3 tiny teeth & likes to munch on biscuits. With him around, there is non a FREE moment. Either my time is fully utilised or even stretched like a rubber band by him or pre-occupied trying to complete the housework even with him yelling at the bakground. Gone are the days I stayed late to watch DVD or VCD.
